Rock Solid

From June 28, 2013

On the way to the dinosaur exhibit, I asked Azul, “Did you notice you had on your ‘Rock’ t-shirt? Get it Rock? Like Rock Out or Rock like a fossil?” He replied, “The faster you talk the more it makes me think about the sun and thinking about the sun is not good. The more I think about the sun, the more my eyes hurt.” We were at a stalemate.

A New Old Classic

ABCs

I like to spy on Azul all the time. I’m not sure why I like to watch him when he doesn’t know I’m there, but I do. The other day, while he was in the bathroom, I could hear him singing, so I went to investigate. I could hear the water running and some splashing. I stayed very quiet outside the door. Whew, he was washing his hands and singing his “ABCs.” It went like this, starting with the letters, “A, B, C, D, E, F, G…” He got through his letters with a couple of mix ups, but excellent overall, and I thought it was pretty cute! Next came, “Now I know my…” And now I was singing along with him in my head. We all know the song — it has been ingrained in us since, well, Pre-school. Azul continued, “Now I know my letters pretty good, next time won’t you sing with me.” Next time I will, now that I know his new version of an old classic.

Paparazzi

PaparazziB

If a picture is worth a thousand words, Azul is just as chatty with the camera lens as he is with his mouth. He loves to take pictures; I have various “selfies” he has taken of himself, pictures of our cat Eddie and more Lego pictures than I know what to do with. He has his own camera, he uses mine and he uses my phone to capture his masterpieces. He has taken some really good pictures and I have encouraged this behavior, until, I was flipping through the pics on my camera, and to my surprise, found some images that I was not aware of… I was in the shower! Sorry, no picture of that included.
